Summer Camp Registration

We are beginning preparations for the Troop to attend summer camp at Rodney Scout Reservation in Maryland on the northern end of the Chesapeake Bay the week of Sunday, July 1 – Saturday, July 7

We already have a site reserved and paid for 25 Scouts and adult leaders but can accommodate more if necessary. We now need to assemble a list of Scouts and Leaders who will be coming. Please let ASM Erik Autor ( know if you and/or your Scout(s) plan to attend.

The next step is payment. The early-bird discount price of $455 for Scouts ends on April 28.  Payment should be sent to Troop Treasurer, Renee Rumingan with checks made out to “Troop 349” and “Summer Camp” written on the memo line.

There are a few other things to keep in mind. On March 24, Scouts can start selecting their merit badges and programs.Attached is a list of merit badges, other BSA awards, and special programs being offered. Encourage your scouts to look it over and start planning what they would like to take and do. First year scouts participate in the Brown Sea program, so merit badge selection is not needed. Finally, all those attending will need a current BSA health form and should plan now to schedule an annual physical well before departing for camp. Spring is a popular time for health check-ups and appointments fill up fast.

CANCELED – March Campout – Prince William Forest (Orienteering)

Prince William Forest

The focus will be to learn the use of a map and compass to navigate (orienteering) around the Park. There are several pre-set orienteering courses. We will take advantage of training via the Park Ranger and then explore the Park courses using our map and compass.
